Macadamia nuts cause weakness, vomiting, tremors, and hyperthermia in dogs. Toxicity occurs at about 2.4g per kg body weight. The exact toxin is unknown. Most dogs recover within 48 hours with supportive care, but combined with chocolate, effects are more severe.
